Vote NO on Proposition 413

A.R.S. § 11-419(A) Sets supervisor pay as high as $96,600.00 per year

Does our Mayor REALLY believe we SHould raise her pay from $42,000.00 per year to $120,750.00 per year?
Or that we would raise Council Members from $24,000 per year to $96,600.00 per year?
THAT is 287.5% of what she makes now and Council Members would get 402.5% of what they make now!!

Proposition 413 states that

"the Mayor's annual salary increase from $42,000 to 1.25 times the annual salary set for members of the Pima County Board of Supervisors ("Board"), and the Council Members' annual salaries increase from $24,000 to the annual salary set for members of the Board, and that those salaries then be subsequently adjusted in the same manner in accordance with any adjustments to the salary for the Board of Supervisors"

According to govsalaries.com;

 In the United States, a Mayor earns an average salary of a $37,629.

The average Mayor salary in Arizona is $34,944.

In the United States, a Supervisor earns an average salary of a $75,256.

The average Supervisor salary in Arizona is $62,819.

Across The United States, as well as across Arizona, Mayors make about HALF what a Supervisor makes.

OUR MAYOR wants to make MORE than the Supervisors,

and over THREE TIMES the average in Arizona.

PROPOSITION 413 Claims it is neccesary to pass this PAY RAISE IMMEDIATELY to preserve the PEACE, HEALTH and SAFETY of our city!!! TOO LATE.

HOW can a PAY RAISE for our Mayor and Council members POSSIBLY preserve the peace, health and safety of our city?

An EMERGENCY!!! Are they SERIOUS?

This sounds to me like a Gangster telling a bar owner to give him money to "PROTECT" (i.e. preserve) the PEACE, HEALTH and SAFETY of the customers because it would be a shame if something BAD were to happen...

SECTION 4. WHEREAS, it is necessary for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety of the City of Tucson that this Ordinance become immediately effective, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shali become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
